Winterthur Estate Daybed Canopy

The Winterthur Estate daybed canopy is an accessory built for one purpose: it fits the Winterthur Estate daybed and turns it into a shaded retreat. Sold separately from the daybed, the canopy adds a sheer white Sunbrella top and side panels that catch the breeze while filtering the afternoon sun.

Design and Construction

The frame is premium weather-resistant powder-coated aluminum finished in Obsidian Black, customized to fit the Winterthur daybed rather than adapted from a generic canopy. Decorative aluminum finials, finished to match the frame, secure the fabric top cover at each of the four corners. The fabric panels are independent of the top crown panels, and each includes pre-sewn ties, so they can be draped, swagged or tied back to change the look through the day. Minimal assembly is required.

Size and Placement

At 83 inches wide, 36 inches deep and 46 inches high, the canopy is sized to the daybed footprint, so plan the pair together and allow overhead clearance beneath any porch beams or eaves. Because the side panels move with the breeze, give the daybed a position with some air movement to make the most of the effect: the edge of a lawn, a poolside corner, or an open terrace with a view worth framing. The canopy also gives a daybed real privacy when the panels are drawn closed.
