The rake recliner is only available as a manual wall saver recliner. A wall saver (aka wallaway or wall hugger) means the recliner moves forward as you recline, allowing it to be placed closer to the wall.
Unit Height: 49.5" Unit Width: 45.5" Unit Depth: 47" Seat Height: 24" (~20" is typical) Seat Depth: 27" (~21" is typical) Seat Width: 22.5" Arm Height: 30" (~26" is typical) Extended Length: 83" (~70" is typical)

Frame: Each rake is constructed of a 1 1/8" hardwood seat frame joined together by six 2.5-inch lag bolts, doweled joints, and glue.
Mechanism The heavy-duty 7-gauge steel mechanism is more durable than a typical recliner. Most might use an 11-12 gauge steel instead.
Springs This chair features an independent drop-in coil spring suspension. The seating system is comprised of individual steel coil springs securely clinched to #19 gauge roll formed steel channel bars. Because of the bars strength and rigidity, the chair construction is more solid when the bars are secured to the frame. Each steel coil is connected by a link-top fabrication, which spreads the weight load per spring more evenly.
Cushions: Cushions are made of a 2.3-2.5 density premium high-resiliency foam for longer-lasting support.

I’m 6’-6” and 280 pounds. I NEEDED an oversized recliner and Sofas and Sectionals DELIVERED in every way! They are freaking awesome and I can’t thank them enough for helping find the PERFECT recliner for me!
Definitely sturdy and well built. I've loved it so far. I'm 6'3 and about 300lbs and have plenty of room when sitting in this. Though I do wish I had gotten a version that reclines back further for when I feel like sleeping in my recliner it is still great to use as intended. The handle broke during shipping but I received a replacement within a couple weeks. It is lightweight enough that I could bring it inside and set it up myself as well
This is my second Rake recliner. The first is now at my cousin's place, after many years of solid service to me. I only moved on from it because of some small tears in the fabric, which bothered my wife more than me. This is the best big & tall recliner I know of. It's built to last, heavy duty all over, and inside where it counts. Very comfortable and roomy. This is the only recliner I've ever sat in where my feet were on the foot rest, not my ankles. When this one goes (years from now) I'll by another.
I am 6’5 and over 300 pounds. I have never had a chair that is “too big” for me before. I have always managed to make do with something to small and inferior. This chair is huge. It is very well built and the fabric is so tough. I have a 90 pound Great Dane puppy of 7 months and he literally shares this chair with me. It is heavy duty, very well built and will probably be the last recliner I ever buy. Well worth the money.
I’m 6'8" and about 330 pounds, and this is the first recliner I’ve owned that truly feels like it fits me the way a recliner should. What really sets it apart is the length: the seat length, leg rest length, and backrest height all finally feel right for someone my size. It’s also plenty wide and very comfortable without feeling overly bulky or unnecessarily oversized. The comfort is excellent. It strikes a great balance between softness and support — not so soft that you sink into it like a beanbag, but not so firm that you get uncomfortable after sitting for a while. It feels great whether I’m sitting upright watching TV and talking with people, or reclined back and taking a nap. The reclining mechanism works very well, and the side arm is smooth, easy to use, and feels solid. I was also very happy with the color, which looked even better in person than I expected from online. I also want to mention that the white glove delivery went very well. The chair arrived on time, the delivery process was smooth, and all packaging and waste were removed, which I really appreciated. As a point of caution, this chair is tall enough that those under about 6'5" may not reach the floor at all in the seated position. I’m a long-legged 6'8", and my feet do touch the floor flat when seated upright, but lightly — it honestly feels like the seat height was made exactly for me. For someone of my height, that is a huge positive. I would even say this chair seems well suited for people pushing or even exceeding 7 feet tall. More than anything, this chair feels like it was genuinely designed for bigger and taller people in the areas that matter most. It’s supportive, comfortable, and feels like an exceptional value for the size and quality you get. Honestly, the only downside at all, in my opinion, is that this exact chair does not come with a power lift option. If it did, my dad would absolutely get one. He’s almost exactly my size, just with more upper-body height than leg height, and he’s turning 80 this year with mobility issues, so a power lift version of this same recliner would be just about perfect for him. Overall, I’m genuinely thrilled with it and would absolutely recommend the Rake Recliner.
The Beast is the most comfortable well built recliner that I have ever sat in. I mainly bought this chair because it was extremely well built, firm soft and comfortable. When I sit upright in my feet actually dangling the air , like a little kid. I am 6’3”. My adult son who is 6’8” and 300 lbs is constantly trying to sit in it when we are watching the game. It is the only piece of furniture that I have where I don’t worry about it breaking when he plops down into it and I know he finds it comfortable as he is always napping in it.
this is our second Rake BEAST Recliner. Still using the original which is 15+ years old and in good shape. Need this size because spouse is 6'3" and even he looks small in the BEAST. Great product. Great service. Price is worth the quality.
A comfortable, sturdy recliner. I got this to replace a power lift from a different brand that wasn't quite as friendly for heavy folks as it advertised itself. This has been heavy duty and comfortable; I use this as bed and computer chair alike, and it's held up to nearly a year's hard effort so far with nary a complaint.
I really like this chair, it is the only chair that my feet do not hang over the foot rest. The only problem which is a big problem, this chair is rated at 500 lbs I only weigh 330 and the mechanism keeps wearing out and breaking after one year. I have owned 3 of these chairs but with the cheep mechanism I my not purchase another one.
I love this recliner. I purchased it because I will need a recliner to recover in after some surgeries. I’m 6’3 and 190lbs. I can even lay on my side in it. I got it because it’s the biggest on the market. It’s very well made and is sure to last years, but I got the warranty.
We had just bought a new couch and recliner set and my husband was complaining that it was not comfortable for him because his feet hung off the end - he is 6'2". I searched and searched for a big man's recliner and found this. I have to admit I was skeptical ordering on-line without him trying it out. Customer service was extremely helpful; delivery was earlier than expected and went smoothly. This is a very big chair; it makes him look small, but he loves it! Perfect recliner for a tall person.

A: When fully reclined, the Rake Beast measures 83" (just under 7 feet) from the tip of the footrest to the back of the chair. This is significantly longer than a typical recliner (~70" extended), giving taller individuals — up to 83" tall — room to fully stretch out without their feet hanging off the end. For comparison, here are the chair's full dimensions: Extended length (fully reclined): 83" Unit depth (upright): 47" Unit width: 45.5" Unit height: 49.5"
A: Yes, it will fit — but you'll need to remove the back first. Fully assembled, the Rake Beast is 45.5" wide, which is too wide for a 36" doorway. However, the chair is specifically designed with a removable back for exactly this reason. With the back detached, the base is approximately 30" tall and slides through standard doorways, stairwells, and tight hallways with ease. The back simply slides into the base and locks into place — no tools required. Your delivery team will typically bring it in with the back already off and reattach it once it's in the room. As a bonus for apartment living: the Rake is a wall-saver recliner, so it only needs about 7" of clearance from the wall to fully recline.
