Sofas and Sofa Sets
The word ‘sofa’ is derived from the Arabic ‘Suffah’ meaning ‘bench’. Traditionally from Turkey, it is literally a section of elevated floor, raised off the ground and covered with ornate carpets and richly embroidered cushions. Sofas and loveseats have come a long way since then and are now much more luxurious, elegant and comfortable! The term ‘loveseat’ is used to describe is a padded and elaborately decorated seat big enough for two, and used to be known as a ‘courting chair’. These days, a loveseat is generally thought of as a small sofa.
Most modern sofas seat far more than two people, and typically have three or four cushioned sections, depending on size and style.
A loveseat is basically a mini version of a standard sofa, offering bijoux comfort! Generally, sofa sizes average around 190 centimeters wide, whereas a typical loveseat measures from 140 to 160 centimeters.
When your living space is too small for a standard-sized sofa, but you need more than a single chair, a loveseat may be the ideal choice for your new lounge furniture. A loveseat will often fit into a snug or a small space, as they are much shorter than standard sofas, offering comfort, style and maximizing the space in your home.
Sofas and love seats come in several designs and styles from traditional and cozy, to sleek and contemporary.
