Hemingway Islands Loveseat (Made to order fabrics)

The Hemingway Islands loveseat carries the collection's West Indies character in a 60 inch, two-seat frame. Wide paddle arms with cane weave panels and cast aluminum leg turnings give it the presence of a piece from a colonial veranda, at a scale that fits a porch or a covered patio without needing a full sofa.

Design and Construction

The frame is built from rust and mildew resistant premium cast and wrought aluminum with a powder-coated finish, combined with woven wicker panels and supported by a PVC strap deck under the cushions. Cast aluminum forms the legs and arms, the parts that carry the collection's turned, sculptural detail, and wrought aluminum decor is worked into the back panels. The cane weave arm panels are the signature: on a loveseat, both arms are in full view from the front, so this piece shows more of that detail per foot than the sofa does. The powder coat is handcrafted in a matte Black Truffle coloration.

Comfort and Seating

The seat measures 52 inches wide and 22 inches deep at a 20 inch height, with the paddle arms at 24 inches. The arm sits only 4 inches above the seat, which is what makes the paddle arm comfortable to rest a whole forearm on rather than just an elbow. Fifty-two inches of seat width gives two people room without shoulder contact, and the 40 inch overall depth means the cushions carry you back rather than perching you forward.
